Publication of the book “Poemas esenciales” by José Hierro

The Cervantes Institute in Marrakech published the book “Poemas esenciales” by José Hierro, which was presented at the Casablanca International Book Fair on 12th February.

This is a bilingual selection of some of the author’s most prominent verses. It is the second literary product of the translation and publishing programme ‘Cervantes Poets in Arabic’ (POCENAR), supported by the Abertis Foundation.

On this occasion, the Spanish Embassy in Morocco, the literary residence Riad Dar Justo and the José Hierro Poetry Centre also collaborated with the programme in the year marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of the author’s death. The POCENAR programme encourages intercultural dialogue, the dissemination of Spanish literature in the Arab world, and the promotion of young Moroccan translators. The support of the Abertis Foundation is yet another gesture in strengthening ties between both shores of the Mediterranean.

The Abertis Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan establishes the involvement of the Group in the communities where it carries out its business.

The exhibition Miró: la experiencia de mirar” (Miró: the experience of looking)was held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 25th November 2017 to 25th February 2018.

In the previous summary we indicated that the artist Joan Miró maintained a close link with the avant-garde scene in Paris from his youth until a ripe old age. The exhibition sponsored by Abertis at the Grand Palais enabled the Catalan painter to return to the French capital.

In February 1917, Europe was immersed in the 1st World War. Pablo Picasso was 36 years old then, but was already a great artist who had started the Cubism revolution.
