As part of its strategic road safety programme, in September the Abertis Group intensified its awareness-raising actions for responsible driving in Brazil, Chile and Argentina to coincide with Road Safety Month.
Arteris hosted the fourth edition of the Arteris Road Safety Forum in Brazil, under the heading “Today’s solutions for tomorrow’s traffic”. The event was attended by large companies, public bodies and specialists in the sector from Brazil, Spain and the United States, who discussed solutions to the problem of road accidents. The participants included delegates from the Movimento Paulista de Segurança no Trânsito, the car manufacturer Renault, the consulting company Everis, and the business consortium Together for Safer Roads.
After the Arteris Road Safety Forum, the campaign entitled “Eu bebi mas estoy bem… bem mal depois da tragedia que provoquei na sua familia” was implemented in one of the city’s night-life hotspots. With the collaboration of young people with spinal cord lesions, it aims to raise awareness among young people of the need for responsible driving.
Similar actions took place in Argentina in the municipalities of Pilar and Ituzain, under the slogan “Manejá sin alcohol. La vida es frágil” (Don’t drink and drive. Life is fragile), and in the community of Vitacura in Santiago de Chile.
Chile was also the location for an awareness-raising campaign in a night-life hotspot under the heading “El trago más amargo. Cuando tomes no manejes” (A lesson that’s hard to swallow. Don’t drink and drive) The campaign consisted in delivering a message of responsibility to drivers through the testimony of a potential victim.
The holidays around the Chilean National Day saw the launch of the campaign entitled “El auto que tu familia no merece” (The car your family doesn’t deserve), targeting the thousands of users who travel on the roads in this holiday period. The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness of the need to drive defensively and be alert to the conditions on the road.
