A new web platform was set up in 2017 to gather together all the actions promoted by the Abertis Foundation in the area of road safety, and to highlight all the work done over more than 10 years in all the countries where the Abertis Group operates.
The Abertis Foundation’s road safety programme aims to support drivers at every stage of their life. Visitors to the new website can access information and teaching material on actions aimed at schoolchildren –pedestrians today, but tomorrow’s future drivers–, young people –in this case consisting particularly of actions to raise awareness of the need for responsible driving–, adults, and drivers over 70.

The new website also offers visitors information on one of the greatest successes in the road safety programme: all the awareness-raising and training actions have a social angle and involve people with intellectual disabilities or spinal-cord lesions, who carry out the work of dissemination.
Another interesting section on the platform describes the risk factors that statistically cause most accidents on the road. The aim in this case is to bring them to the users’ attention and contribute to preventing risk behaviours on the road.
Between June and December 2017 the Abertis Foundation’s road safety platform received an average of 2,000 visits a month from people interested in the actions carried out by the Foundation in the field of road safety in Brazil, Chile, Spain, France, Argentina and Puerto Rico.
61% of the visitors to the website are users aged between 18 and 34, and almost 30% are in the 18 to 24 age range. So the platform has a very direct impact on a highly important group of drivers, for whom it is essential to acquire good practices behind the wheel that will stay with them throughout their lives as drivers.
